FAQs
What does the proposal include?
The Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development is considering a proposal to amend the locality boundary of Bells Creek and give the new locality the name of Aura Central, as shown on the Proposal Plan QPN1440. The proposed boundary amendment will result in approximately 90 hectares of land changing from the locality of Bells Creek into a new locality of Aura Central.
The proposal seeks to establish a new locality to formally recognise the central business district within the Caloundra South Priority Development Area (PDA). This locality will finalise the PDA Masterplan community that encompasses the localities of Banya, Gagalba, Nirimba, Baringa and Bells Creek.
What would be the change impact of residents and businesses in the area?
When a final decision is made, amending the locality boundary of Bells Creek will require any affected residents and businesses to update their address to recognise the change.
How will I know if the proposal is approved and my address is changing?
Affected property owners and residents in the area will be notified of the decision by letter.
Updates will be also available online through Engagement HQ consultation page and on the Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development web-site Current proposals and decisions.
