The Honourable Dale Last MP, Minister for Natural Resources and Mines, Minister for Manufacturing, and Minister for Regional and Rural Development, has decided to discontinue the locality of Kairabah and incorporate the area into the locality of Yarrabilba.
Yarrabilba is located within the Logan City Council area, approximately 20km south of Logan Central and 46km south of the Brisbane CBD. Yarrabilba is the approved name of the locality under the Place Names Act 1994 (the Act).
Localities – often known as suburbs – are administrative boundaries that are essential for the creation of valid addresses that can be uniquely and clearly identified. Valid addresses are critical to ensure the timely and accurate provision of postal, emergency, and other essential services.
The locality change will avoid confusion for residents, businesses, and emergency services by establishing a single suburb name for the entire Yarrabilba Priority Development Area.
